Giant Fish Weathervane

Garnto's Giant Fish Weathervane is located in Meeks Park 2 off of Blue Ridge Highway.

Al Garnto, fine artist and blacksmith, creates art with everything from steel and discarded items to oil paints and canvas. His pieces include kinetic sculptures, metal folk art, oil paintings, charcoal drawings, mixed media collage, yard art, and knives. A lot of Al's work is a direct reflection of the working-class community from which he draws inspiration and gathers his recycled materials.

Al Garnto is known for his outdoor kinetic sculptures -- especially the Appalachian Sculpture Project spearheaded out of Meeks Park in Union County. Al works at his studio and blacksmith shop creating items big and small. Commissions are welcome. Prices range from fifty dollar Giclée prints to large canvases worth thousands. Tours are available by appointment only.
